The lug width is 21 millimetres, an unconventional size in contemporary watchmaking. This represents the distance between the two lower lugs of the case where the strap is attached. This specificity makes the model more exclusive and requires careful selection of aftermarket straps.

For the classical nature of the Artelier, we recommend vegetable-tanned calf leather, which develops patina over time, or alligator with polished finish for greater contrast with the brushed steel case. A NATO strap in natural textile offers daily versatility whilst maintaining the vintage dna of the Oris 733 calibre. Choice depends on use: leather for formal, NATO for casual wear.

Use a spring bar tool to gently remove the two spring bars securing the old strap to the case lugs. Once extracted, insert the new strap by threading its two passants into the holes of the spring bars, then reinsert the spring bars into the lateral holes of the case. Never force to avoid damage to the case or lugs.

Any strap with a 21-millimetre lug width is compatible with the model 01 733 7670 4351-07 5 21 70FC. This includes full-grain leather, shell cordovan, NATO fabrics, FKM rubber and alligator. Always verify the measurement before purchase as 21mm is less common than standard 20mm offerings.

A quality vegetable-tanned leather strap lasts 3-5 years with daily wear, varying according to leather quality, ambient humidity and usage habits. Shell cordovan can last over 7-10 years whilst developing fascinating patina. Natural leather ageing is desirable; replacement becomes necessary when the strap begins to crack or loses the ability to stay closed securely.
