The lug width is 26mm. This measurement represents the distance between the inner shoulders of the barrel pins. Any compatible strap must have a nominal width of 26mm at the base to ensure precise fit without binding or excessive play.

Selection depends on intended use. For formal or semi-formal contexts we recommend vegetable-tanned alligator in cognac or medium brown: the natural grain creates tactile contrast with the ceramic bezel. For recreational diving a 2x2 twill NATO in navy blue offers hydrostatic resistance and prevents lateral strap rotation. For technical diving, Viton® rubber with integrated deployante provides maximum pressure and temperature resistance.

Locate the barrel pins on both sides of the case (lug area). Use a spring bar tool to push the pin inward from one side, creating space to remove the old strap. Insert the new strap into the first opening, push the pin until it clicks into the opposite seat, verifying the lock. Repeat on the opposite lug. Ensure the passant width is compatible with the 26mm nominal measurement.

Any strap with 26mm lug width is compatible, provided the passant is sized for standard pins (1.6-1.8mm diameter). Artisanal leather straps from the milanostraps line, handcrafted in vegetable tanning with alligator, shell cordovan and calf, have been tested on this configuration. Always verify that the terminal width of the strap is not less than 20mm to ensure even stress distribution.

Durability depends on frequency of wear, material and humidity exposure. Vegetable-tanned alligator, if exposed to frequent saltwater immersion, shows first structural failure within 18-24 months of intensive use; shell cordovan, more humidity-resistant, extends life to 3-4 years. A mid-range calf strap guarantees approximately 2 years under recreational conditions (non-diving). Regular maintenance with beeswax hydrophobic balms significantly extends durability.
