The ideal material depends on usage: for uncompromised elegance, vegetable-tanned alligator develops a natural patina that harmonizes the strap with the dial over time. For daily durability, aged calf offers compactness and longevity. To emphasize the chronograph's sporting soul, technical fabrics or structured rubber maintain the Moonwatch's racing heritage.

The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch uses standard spring bars that pass through the lugs. Use a dedicated removal tool (spring bar tool) to open the bar's return mechanism from the underside of the lug, disengaging it gently. Position the new strap by aligning the bar hole with the lug, then close the mechanism until you hear the locking click. Repeat for the other side.

Replacing an original strap with an aftermarket one does not automatically void the manufacturer's warranty on the case and movement. However, direct damage caused by improper strap installation would not be covered. We recommend having a certified professional install the new strap to avoid any dispute with the brand.
