The lug width is 20 mm. It is measured perpendicularly from the tip of the lower spring of the upper lug to the tip of the lower spring of the lower lug. This parameter is independent of the case diameter (36.25 mm) and determines compatibility with aftermarket straps.

Use a spring bar remover tool to gently compress the lug springs. Never force directly with screwdrivers, as you risk scratching the gold case. Remove the old strap by pushing the lug through the slot, then insert the new lug ensuring the springs click correctly into the housings. Verify stability before wearing the watch.

Frequent diving reduces lifespan to 2-3 years as water degrades the collagen fibers in the leather. For primarily underwater use, rubber or NATO is preferable.
