A compatible strap must have a thickness that completely fills this space without excessive play or forcing. If you measure the outer width between the attachments, you will obtain approximately 22-24mm depending on the strap thickness.

We recommend vegetable-tanned alligator leather (French grain) for aesthetic contrast with the Terra Tonda dial, or burgundy shell cordovan if you seek rich formal chromatic richness. For maximum versatility, satin-finished smooth calf antracite or black. If you want to emphasize the original sportiness, a satin-finished black FKM rubber strap is excellent.

It requires no special tools. Apply gentle pressure inward on the upper lug until the spring bar partially emerges, then extract it completely. Insert the new strap from the top by aligning the holes with the spring bar, then slide the spring bar until you feel the "click" that signals proper seating. The spring bar must not protrude laterally.

Any strap with a 20mm lug width is compatible. We recommend noble leathers (alligator, shell cordovan, calf) from manufacturers specializing in vegetable tanning for longevity and patina development over time. Verify that the strap thickness is proportionate to the 44mm case: excessively thin straps would appear visually fragile.

A quality vegetable-tanned strap (alligator, shell cordovan) lasts 3-5 years with regular daily use. Shell cordovan, being denser, reaches 5-7 years. Durability depends on moisture exposure, frequency of use, and care: avoid prolonged water contact and store the watch in a dry environment. The patina that develops is a sign of noble aging, not deterioration.
