The Tetra 475 is fitted with standard, removable spring bars. Use a dedicated spring bar removal tool (available from authorised retailers) to extract the pins by pressing them laterally, then gently remove the old strap. Align the new strap's holes with the case lugs and reinsert the pins until they click into place. Avoid improvised tools that may scratch the case.

A quality artisanal leather strap, particularly vegetable-tanned leather, typically lasts 4–6 years with regular daily use. Alligator straps tend to last 6–8 years thanks to their denser fibre structure. Durability depends on ambient humidity, frequency of wear, periodic cleaning, and buckle type. Vulcanised rubber straps easily exceed 5–7 years without significant degradation.
