The lug length measures 11.6 millimetres from the case shoulder to the maximum depth point, a specification that ensures harmonious proportions with the 37.5mm case diameter.

There is no universal choice, but rather a series of technically excellent options depending on context of use. Dark brown or burgundy alligator emphasises the watch's German Bauhaus identity; vegetable-tanned calf develops a natural patina that testifies to daily wear; whiskey-coloured shell cordovan imparts historical depth; grey or navy canvas NATO maintains minimalist sobriety for informal settings; black butyl rubber accentuates the functional-technical character. The Tangente 164 utilises a standard spring bar lug system. To remove the strap, obtain a spring bar tool (specialist instrument with two pointed ends), insert one tip into the lateral hole of the lug beneath the case, apply gentle pressure to compress the internal spring, and slide the strap from the case shoulder. Repeat on the opposite side. To install the replacement strap, align the lug with the hole, compress the spring with the tool, and secure the lug in position. Do not apply excessive force: the mechanism is delicate.
