The Nomos Glashütte Lux 920 features an 18-millimetre lug width. This measurement is taken between the two spring bars passing through the case and is specifically suited for watches with a diameter between 34 and 38 millimetres, ensuring balanced proportions and optimal visual harmony with the 36-millimetre white gold case.

For the white gold Lux 920, alligator leather with vegetable tanning or vegetable-tanned calf leather straps are ideal for formal occasions, accentuating the nobility of the case. For everyday versatility, a NATO strap in dense cotton or a vulcanised rubber strap maintains the Bauhaus elegance of the model, allowing quick changes and extended comfort.

To change the strap, you must remove the spring bars connecting the lugs to the case using a dedicated tool (spring bar tool). Insert the small hook of the tool into the spring bar slot to compress the internal spring, then extract the bar. Once free, the strap slides away from the case. Repeat the process on the other side and install the new strap, ensuring the spring bars are firmly secured.

Any strap with an 18-millimetre lug width is compatible with the Lux 920. We recommend artisanal leather straps of superior quality (alligator, shell cordovan, vegetable-tanned calf), NATO straps in natural textiles, and vulcanised rubber straps. Always verify that the spring bars used by the strap have the correct diameter (typically 1.6 millimetres) to ensure secure fit.

The lifespan of a leather strap depends on the material, frequency of use, and maintenance. An alligator or shell cordovan strap, if properly maintained (avoiding excessive moisture and protecting from direct sunlight), can last 5–7 years of regular wear. Vegetable-tanned calf leather has a comparable lifespan. Rotating among multiple straps significantly extends the life of each piece, reducing accelerated deterioration and allowing natural patina development.
