The lug width is 18 mm. This dimension is fixed and represents the distance between the internal shoulders of the metal tube connecting the case. Any compatible strap must have lugs precisely sized to 18 mm; minor tolerances can cause slippage or excessive stiffness.

For this 29.70 mm ladies' model, we recommend French alligator leather (Hermès Taurillon or equivalent) with silk stitching for aesthetic coherence, or Taurillon calf leather with vegetable tanning for natural aging. The material should reflect the restrained and refined character of the case; avoid plasticised or synthetic materials that contrast with the watch's identity.

Strap replacement requires a spring bar tool. Position the watch face-up, gently push the tool inward at the case base to disengage the spring; repeat on the other side. The strap will be released. For installation, thread the watch lugs through the new strap holes and push the spring bar until it clicks into position. If uncertain, entrust the operation to a certified watchmaker.

Any strap with an 18 mm lug width is compatible. Online you'll find certified 18 mm straps in alligator, crocodile, Taurillon calf, shell cordovan, NATO and FKM rubber. Always verify that the internal lug is calibrated to 18 mm to avoid fitting issues. Distrust straps without precise dimensioning: a few millimetres error compromises usability.

Durability depends on material and exposure conditions. Premium alligator lasts 5-7 years with routine maintenance (annual waterproofing, sun protection). Taurillon calf has similar longevity but shows aging signs more visibly (patina, controlled creasing). Shell cordovan can last 8-10 years due to fibre density. FKM rubber has limited lifespan (2-3 years) but is economical. Excessive humidity reduces lifespan for all natural materials.
