The lug width of the L3.690.4.19.6 is 21mm. This measurement refers to the internal distance between the two holes of the side lugs where the strap attaches to the case. You can verify this using a digital calliper positioned perpendicular to the lugs. This technical specification is essential to ensure compatibility with aftermarket straps.

The choice depends on intended use. For formal evenings: alligator or black shell cordovan. For daily versatility: calf leather with vegetable tanning in brown or burgundy. For aquatic activities: high-density nylon NATO or FKM rubber. The 41mm case diameter accommodates generous straps without visual disproportion; we recommend thicknesses between 1.2 and 1.8mm to maintain aesthetic balance.

Remove the strap using a small flathead screwdriver or a dedicated spring bar tool. Insert the blade into the upper access hole of the lug, gently pushing downward to release the internal spring. Once the first end is freed, the strap slides off easily. Installation is performed in reverse. We recommend working on a soft surface (mat) to avoid scratching the case.

Any strap with a standard 21mm lug width is compatible. We advise against generic models from untraceable Asian manufacturers, since the construction quality of the lugs (spring rigidity, hole precision) determines longevity and wearing safety. Lifespan depends on material and usage. A calf leather with vegetable tanning subjected to daily wear has an average life of 4–6 years; alligator, due to inherent fragility, lasts 2–4 years in frequent humidity conditions. Shell cordovan, for exceptional fibre density, exceeds 10 years even with intensive wear. FKM rubber requires replacement every 3–4 years. Determining factors: exposure to moisture, body perspiration, and application of protective treatments (waxes, natural oils) that regenerate fibres.
