This dimension must be verified by measuring at the widest point of the strap, between the two terminals that insert into the spring bar. We recommend measuring with precision using a digital calliper, taking the measurement approximately 5 millimetres from the terminals.

The ideal strap depends on intended use. For formal wear, we recommend quality leather in alligator or calf, with vegetable tanning. For daily versatility, Italian calf with natural patina offers elegance and durability. For pure sportiness, a NATO in polyamide or premium satin rubber enhances the instrument character of the model. The key is selecting materials that endure over time.

The strap is removed by gently pushing the spring bar towards the opposite side using a thin tool—a dedicated lever or the tip of a pocket knife. Once the spring bar is pushed laterally, the strap withdraws from the lug. To install the new strap, align the terminals with the lug opening, then press the spring bar back into position, verifying it is fully seated.

All straps with a certified lug width of 20 millimetres are compatible with the 862079, regardless of material—leather, NATO, or rubber.
