The Portugieser IW5441-05 is a 42mm platinum case watch from the Portugieser collection, originally conceived in 1939 as a navigation instrument for Portuguese pilots. It features the IWC Caliber 9828 movement visible through a transparent caseback, with applied white gold indices and slender sword-shaped hands. The platinum case provides a distinctive gray-white tone and conveys refined construction without additional complications. Water resistant to 60 meters, this timepiece combines geometric purity and wrist discretion with a 21mm lug width proportioned to the 42mm diameter.
