Frequently asked questions

Can a standard strap be fitted to the Hublot Big Bang 301.CM.710.RX?

No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there is no traditional lug to attach an off-the-shelf strap. This is a deliberate design decision, not a limitation — but it requires a completely different approach. In the atelier I build the strap to measure, starting from the actual geometry of the case.

How does the bespoke strap service work for this Big Bang?

I work by appointment only, at Casati Milano, in Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the profile of the integrated terminal and take measurements directly from the case. There are no valid templates for this attachment: every strap is built from scratch, on the watch itself.

Which leather do I recommend for this model?

For a Big Bang like this I prefer Tuscan vegetable-tanned leather. The case combines ceramic and steel — hard, technical materials with a strong character. Tuscan leather has a firm, almost structured feel that engages well with that physicality without softening it too much. It ages with dignity, developing character without losing its shape.

How long does a well-made strap last?

With a quality hide and a little care, I count on at least five or six years of regular use. Keep it away from prolonged contact with water and let it breathe between wearings. Vegetable-tanned leather does not deteriorate: it transforms, taking on the marks of the person wearing it. After a few years it tells a story — and that is rather the point.

What makes the Big Bang's attachment system so different from other watches?

Hublot built a visually distinctive identity around the exposed H-shaped screws. It is not decoration: the screws hold together materials with different expansion coefficients — ceramic, resin, steel — in a single coherent structure. I have seen in the atelier how many hours it takes to work on this geometry without imprecision. It is an attachment that does not forgive approximations.
