The Pano 1-93-12-01-03-50, seen from the bench

The Pano by Glashütte Original is powered by the in-house calibre 93-02 with tourbillon escapement and complications including big date, moon phases, and small seconds. The movement features the characteristic asymmetric layout of the German maison with off-center hour and minute indications. The watch uses 20mm lugs and stands out for the architectural design of the dial that organizes the functions in distinct sectors.

Frequently asked questions

What is the lug width of the Glashütte Original Pano 1-93-12-01-03-50?

The lug width is 20mm. This parameter corresponds to the internal distance between the pins protruding from the case. Any 20mm strap, regardless of thickness (3.5mm, 4mm, 4.5mm), will be compatible with the Pano.

Which strap is best suited for the Pano in red gold?

For red gold, we recommend alligator with vegetable tanning in dark brown tones: the compressed grain dialogues naturally with the brushed surface of the case, and the patina that develops over time reflects the evolution of red gold. Shell cordovan and vegetable-tanned calfskin offer superior versatility while maintaining intrinsic elegance.

How do you change the strap on the Glashütte Original Pano?

The Pano uses standard straight-pin lugs. To remove the strap, you need a dedicated spring bar tool to compress the internal pins and extract the lugs from the case seats. Position the tool at the small slot on the pin, push gently towards the centre and the lug will release. To insert the new strap, align the lugs with the holes and compress until you hear a click.

Is an aftermarket 20mm strap truly compatible with the Pano?

Yes, but with caution. Dimensional compatibility (20mm) is a necessary but not sufficient condition. Verify that the strap thickness does not exceed 4.5mm, that the overall length is adequate (approximately 120–130mm for the wrist-wrapping portion), and that the construction and material qualities reflect the value of the watch. Full-grain leather straps of minimum thickness guarantee longevity.

How long does a leather strap last on the Pano?

Durability depends on frequency of use, climate and leather quality. An alligator or shell cordovan strap with vegetable tanning, worn daily, maintains structural integrity for 3–5 years. Ageing is not a defect: the patina that develops imparts character. The glue on the lugs and the deployante buckle typically remain functional beyond 5 years with ordinary maintenance.
