Vegetable-tanned calf leather in dark brown or havana tones is the most congruent choice with the Saxon aesthetic of the case. It represents an equilibrium between tactile elegance and chromatic evolution over time. Alligator in pearl grey offers a contemporary alternative, whilst a NATO strap ensures a functional reading devoid of distraction from the movement visible through the caseback.

The change occurs via spring bars, not a deployante. Use a dedicated removal tool: insert the tip into the small lateral hole of the lug to compress the internal spring and release the pin. Repeat on the other side, then position the new strap by aligning the holes, finally press until you hear the click of the pin closure.

Any strap with an internal passage of 18 mm is compatible with the 1-39-22-10-30-44. We recommend verifying the tolerance of the passage width: it must correspond to 18 ±0.1 mm to ensure smooth rotation around the lug and stable adhesion without lateral play.

A vegetable-tanned calf strap has a lifespan of 3–5 years under normal use conditions, with variability due to sun exposure, humidity, and usage frequency. Well-preserved vegetable tanning develops visible aged patina from the first year. Alligator, thanks to the natural texture of the leather, maintains structural integrity for 7–8 years. Replacement should occur when the passage loses elasticity or the leather shows structural cracks.
