The lug width of the D03-0806 is 20 mm. This measurement must be verified by placing a ruler on the outer edge of one lug to the outer edge of the other, ensuring a tolerance of ±0.3 mm maximum for precise assembly without micro-movements.

The most suitable strap depends on intended use. For formal contexts, vegetable-tanned alligator or shell cordovan is recommended; for versatile daily wear, brushed calf offers durability and aesthetic flexibility; for aquatic or active environments, butadiene rubber ensures superior performance without deterioration.

The change requires extraction of the spring bars from the lugs using a dedicated tool. Position the spring bar extractor in the micro-spaces on the sides of the lugs, gently compress the internal hook to extract the spring bar, then insert the new strap ensuring the lug is perfectly centred between the passants.

Standard 20 mm aftermarket straps are not always suitable for the D03-0806 due to the specific geometry of its lugs. It is advisable to rely on bespoke artisanal straps manufactured specifically for this case to avoid micro-movements that erode materials over time.

Durability varies according to material and usage. Vegetable-tanned alligator resists 3-5 years with ordinary care; brushed calf 2-4 years; shell cordovan 4-6 years. Exposure to perspiration, water and UV radiation accelerates aging. Regular maintenance and periodic conditioning significantly extend useful life.
