Frequently asked questions
What is the lug width of the Damasko Three-hand Models DA34?
The Damasko DA34 features 20mm lug width, the standard sizing for 40mm case watches. This dimension ensures broad aftermarket strap compatibility whilst maintaining balanced proportions between case mass and wrist comfort.
Which strap is most suitable for the Damasko DA34?
For professional and daily wear, we recommend natural alligator in dark tones (black, brown) or vegetable-tanned calf leather that develops patina over time. If destined for humid operational environments, vulcanised rubber or dense cotton NATO provide maximum water resistance and drainage. Selection depends on intended use.
How do I change the strap on my DA34?
You must remove the two spring bars securing the strap to the case. Use a spring bar remover or small flathead screwdriver to apply controlled pressure on the lateral apertures, releasing bar tension. Extract the old strap, align the new strap's lugs with the pins, and verify complete insertion and spring lock engagement.
Can I use an aftermarket compatible strap with the DA34?
Absolutely. Any strap with 20mm lug width is mechanically compatible with the DA34. Verify material choice, total length (sufficient for your wrist), and aesthetic preference. Casati Milano straps and equivalent artisanal brands are entirely compatible and frequently superior in construction quality compared to Damasko original replacements.
How long does a leather strap last on the Damasko DA34?
Leather strap lifespan depends on intensive use, climate conditions (humidity shortens durability), and maintenance care. Under ordinary usage with moderate water and perspiration exposure, expect 3–5 years. Vegetable-tanned straps, if periodically conditioned with natural oils, may exceed this estimate. Rubber and NATO exhibit superior durability (5–10 years) but require regular cleaning.
