Strap for Quai des Bergues Lady N°11

The lug width of the Czapek Quai des Bergues QDB11 is 20 millimetres. This intermediate dimension makes it compatible with a wide range of contemporary artisanal straps whilst maintaining the balanced proportions of the 38mm case.

For the QDB11 we recommend straps in structured leather of superior quality: alligator or shell cordovan offer maximum aesthetic consonance. For a more versatile interpretation, vegetable-tanned calf develops beautifully over time. Sport solutions in canvas NATO or vulcanised rubber open the model to informal contexts.

To change the strap: 1) Obtain a spring bar tool. 2) Position the spring bar tool under the lug. 3) Apply gentle pressure to release the spring. 4) Extract the old strap, insert the new one aligning the lug holes. 5) Verify that the spring bar engages firmly. If the strap features a deployante, ensure the element is correctly secured.

All straps manufactured to the 20mm standard are compatible. Verify that the lug width is 20mm ± 0.5mm using a digital calliper. Milano Straps are manufactured to this tolerance and are tested for QDB11 compatibility.

Durability depends on use and maintenance. A quality leather strap (alligator, shell cordovan, calf) lasts 3-5 years with regular daily use. Exposure to moisture, perspiration and chemical cleaners reduces longevity. A canvas NATO strap resists longer. Vegetable tanning tends to darken and patina rather than degrade, extending aesthetic appreciation beyond structural functionality.
