The strap is replaced by removing the spring bars (lugs) through the case attachments. Use a dedicated tool (spring bar tool) to compress the small elastic pin inside the bar, then slide the bar out of the hole. Insert the new strap by aligning the holes with the pins and reposition the bar. If unsure, a qualified watchmaker can perform the operation in minutes without risk of case damage.

A quality leather strap with vegetable tanning lasts an average of 3-5 years with daily wear, up to 7-10 years with rotation with other straps.
