Frequently asked questions
What is the lug width of the Archimede Klassik UA7929-M2.50?
The lug width is precisely 20mm. It is measured from the inner left shoulder to the inner right shoulder of the case attachment. Use a digital caliper for verification with ±0.1mm tolerance. Any aftermarket strap declared as 20mm will be compatible with this model.
Which strap do you recommend for the Klassik UA7929-M2.50?
We recommend straps in vegetable tanned leather on calf base (cognac, dark brown) for aesthetic coherence with German watchmaking tradition. Alternatively, NATO cotton for daily reversibility, or natural rubber if you use the watch in aquatic environments. All our 20mm straps are compatible.
How do you change the strap on an Archimede Klassik?
Remove the spring bars at the ansa extremities using a strap removal tool or fine needle. Push towards the centre of the ansa to release the spring, fully extract the bar, then slide out the old strap. Insert the new strap into the ansa, reinsert the spring bar (verify it clicks into position) and repeat on the other side.
Can I use high-quality aftermarket straps?
Absolutely. The Archimede Klassik UA7929-M2.50 uses standard 20mm spring bars, compatible with any certified quality strap. Milanostraps offers a curated selection of artisanal 20mm straps in premium leather, NATO and rubber, all tested for fit and durability on this model.
How long does a leather strap last on the Klassik?
A well-maintained vegetable tanned leather strap lasts 3-5 years with moderate daily wear. The natural patina of the leather develops over the first 6-12 months, creating a fascinating aged appearance. We recommend periodic cleaning with a soft damp cloth and application of leather conditioner every 6 months to extend useful life.
