The ecru thread used is waxed, which makes it resistant to moisture and daily wear. Over time it may acquire a slightly warmer patina, but it does not darken noticeably. It is part of the natural aging of the strap, not deterioration.
How does this calf perform with a sports watch or in contact with water?
box-calf has good surface resistance, but it is not designed for immersion or prolonged intense perspiration. For normal daily use — including the occasional raindrop — it holds up without issue. For frequent sports activities, a rubber strap is more suitable.

Yes, and it is inevitable with natural leathers. The artisanal dyeing process does not produce an industrially uniform color: some specimens tend toward a more saturated green, others darker or with olive undertones.
