The natural rubber backing is not an accessory detail: it absorbs shocks, insulates from UV rays, and resists contact with chemical agents. The longitudinal groove structure — integrated into the design — ensures constant ventilation to the wrist even during the longest hours. The pink of the alligator leather is not a color for everyone: it is a precise choice, not a concession to fashion.

Is the rubber backing really necessary, or is it just an excuse to justify the price?
No, it is functional. The premium natural caoutchouc on the reverse absorbs impacts directed at the wrist, insulates against UV rays and resists chemical agents — things that alligator alone would not do as well. This is the reason this strap is built this way: two materials performing different tasks within the same design.
How stable is the pink? Does it fade in the sun or over time?
Alligator leather is dense and long-lived. The pink you see is not a surface tint — it lives in the fibre. What will change is the natural patina, as happens with all authentic leathers. The rubber backing has integrated UV protection, so at least that part is shielded.
Will these 6mm at the lug weigh on the case, or are they proportionate?
At 6mm at the attachment point there is body, but it tapers to 3mm as it descends toward the wrist — this is why it breathes well and does not create discomfort over long hours. The longitudinal grooved structure also helps in that respect. It depends on your watch, but it is designed not to interfere.
If every piece of alligator is different, how do I know whether a variation in tone is normal or a defect?
Slight variations in colour and texture are exactly what we expect from natural leather. They are not imperfections — they are proof that it is authentic. If you see something that concerns you, it is not a question we resolve here: it is a conversation to have with someone who knows the piece.
How long does it last before the caoutchouc begins to degrade or turn sticky?
Premium natural caoutchouc is not what you find everywhere. Resistance to chemical agents is built into the design. Exactly how long it lasts depends on how you use it — chlorine, extreme heat, storage under poor conditions change everything. I cannot give you a numerical guarantee.
