The choice depends on your intended use and aesthetic preference. Alligator amplifies the sporty character; calf adds warmth and develops natural patina over time.

Use a spring bar removal tool: position it under the spring bar, apply gentle lateral pressure until the spring retracts, then extract the spring bar. Repeat for both sides. Insert the new strap by aligning the holes with the bars, then reinsert the spring bars carefully until they click. If you are not experienced, consult a qualified watchmaker.

A premium leather strap, crafted with vegetable tanning, has an average lifespan of 3 to 5 years if worn daily in normal environments. If frequently exposed to moisture, perspiration or salty environments, the lifespan reduces to 18 to 24 months. A NATO or vulcanised rubber strap, ideal for sporting activities, has virtually unlimited durability and requires only periodic cleaning.
