Strap for Defy Double Tourbillon Platinum / Skeleton / Alligator

The lug width (ansa measurement) of the Zenith Defy 40.9000.9020/78.R582 is 23mm. This non-conventional dimension requires specifically calibrated straps, as it does not correspond to standard 22mm or 24mm sizes. Measurement is taken perpendicularly to the line connecting the lugs.

For the Defy in platinum with a 44mm case, a dark brown alligator strap with gold fittings or a vegetable-tanned leather in chestnut brown are optimal choices. Alligator emphasises the formality of the platinum, whilst vegetable-tanned leather develops an aged patina over time, compatible with the chronograph's sporting character.

To change the strap, obtain a properly sized spring bar removal tool. Position the watch face-down, insert the curved end of the tool under the spring bar, apply gentle outward pressure until the bar releases. Repeat for the second bar. Insert the new strap's bars into the lug slots and confirm secure seating by feeling the elastic resistance.
