Strap for Overseas Chronograph Stainless Steel / Silver / Bracelet
Integrated bracelet: measurements, the most common questions, and the way to a made-to-measure strap.
Integrated bracelet
The Vacheron Constantin Overseas 49140/423A-8790 is designed with a bracelet integrated into the case. For a compatible made-to-measure strap, the Casati Milano atelier builds it on your watch.

Frequently asked questions
Can a standard strap be fitted to the Vacheron Constantin Overseas 49140/423A-8790?
No. The bracelet is integrated into the case with a proprietary attachment system: no standard strap will fit. This is a deliberate design decision by Vacheron Constantin, not something to work around with adapters. The only solution is a bespoke attachment, built directly on the watch.
How does the bespoke strap service work for this Overseas?
I work exclusively in the atelier, by appointment: Casati Milano, Via XX Settembre 15, Milan. I take the watch to the bench, measure from the actual case, and build the attachment by hand, millimetre by millimetre. There are no sizes or templates — every piece is made for that specific watch.
Which leather do I recommend for the Overseas?
Naturally aged Barenia, without hesitation. The Overseas has a dual character — sporting in shape, Genevan in spirit — and Barenia follows both directions. It hardens with use, develops an honest patina, and after years it looks as though it always belonged there. Mississippi alligator is a valid alternative for those who want stronger visual texture.
How long does a well-made strap last?
With quality leather and solid construction, I count on at least five to eight years of regular use. Care is straightforward: keep it away from direct water, let it breathe between wearings. Barenia in particular needs little treatment — it ages on its own, and it is better to let it do so.
Why does the Overseas have that specific hexagonal bezel shape?
Jorg Hysek designed it in 1996 as an evocation of the Maltese Cross, Vacheron Constantin's historic symbol. It is not decoration: it is the way the maison brought its identity into a sporting context. When you hold the watch, that geometry gives the case a visual weight that its contemporaries simply did not have.
