I work by appointment only at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, study the geometry of the two-tone case, and take measurements directly from the actual piece. No templates, no remote work — every profile is shaped by hand on that specific watch.

For a watch with this dual character — Pink Gold and Steel, sporty in spirit but precious in materials — I prefer Mississippi Alligator with large, symmetrical scales. The texture is strong enough to hold its own against the faceted bezel, and over time it develops a patina that reflects genuine use without giving way. Nothing too soft or flat: this Overseas calls for a leather with presence.

A strap built from quality leather and crafted properly will easily last five to seven years of daily wear. Care is straightforward: keep it away from water, let it dry if it gets damp, rotate between straps if you own more than one. Good leather does not deteriorate — it ages, and after a few years it tells a story that new leather simply cannot.

It was born in 1977 as Vacheron Constantin's response to the sport-chic era, and that tension between strength and refinement has remained in the model's DNA. I have seen many Overseas watches on the bench over the years: it is a watch that works on the wrist of someone who does not want to choose between elegance and durability.
