No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there is no conventional lug where a standard strap can be attached. The attachment geometry is proprietary and requires bespoke work. In the atelier I build each piece directly on the watch, without adapters and without compromise.

I work exclusively by appointment at my <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a> atelier, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements directly from the case and shape the attachment by hand, stitched and finished in-house. I do not send self-assembly kits: this kind of work requires seeing the watch in person, not a photograph.

I will be direct: naturally aged Barenia. It has a compact texture that holds up well with active wear and develops a warm patina over time, sitting naturally alongside the tone of pink gold. I avoid overly shiny or formal leathers: the Overseas was born as an active dress watch, and the strap should tell the same story.

With minimal care — keeping it away from water and letting it breathe between wearings — a quality leather strap comfortably reaches five to seven years. Barenia, for instance, does not deteriorate: it transforms. The first few weeks it is stiff, then it moulds to the wrist and becomes increasingly personal. A strap that ages well is a good sign: it means the material was honest.

The design dates to 1996, as Vacheron Constantin's answer to the demand for a sporting watch that did not sacrifice fine manufacture. What sets it apart, in my view, is the coherence between case and bracelet: the flowing links do not look added on — they look like part of the same drawing. In pink gold this visual continuity is even more apparent, which is precisely why a bespoke strap must honour it rather than interrupt it.
