No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: the attachment is proprietary and a standard strap simply will not fit. It is an architecture designed to create a complete visual unity between case and bracelet. In the atelier I build the strap to measure, working directly on the watch itself.

The work is carried out exclusively at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements directly from the case and shape every attachment by hand around the hexagonal geometry of the bezel. There are no shortcuts: every millimetre is verified before the leather is cut.

I prefer Barenia. It ages with a living patina, developing character through wear — and that is exactly what a watch like the Overseas calls for, an watch meant to be worn, not merely admired. Against a brushed and polished steel case, Barenia does not compete: it converses. Alligator is the right choice for a more formal reading, but for the sporting spirit of this watch I stay with Barenia.

A strap built with quality leather and solid stitching will comfortably last five to seven years of daily wear — provided it is treated with care. That means keeping it away from water, letting it breathe in rotation with a second strap, and conditioning the leather every few months. Barenia in particular improves with age: the worn areas become part of the character of the piece.

The Overseas was designed by Jörg Hysek in 1996. Choosing a hexagonal bezel in a sporting context was not an obvious decision: it is a geometry that demands total coherence across every element of the case. I have seen many sports watches over the years — very few manage to hold together structural tension and formal elegance with the same conviction. That is what makes the Overseas a difficult object to ignore on the bench.
