No. The bracelet is integrated into the case with a proprietary attachment system: a standard strap simply cannot connect physically. The Maltese architecture is built lug by lug, millimetre by millimetre. That is why I only work bespoke, directly on the watch at the atelier.

I work through <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements from the actual case, and build each attachment following the precise curvature of that specific piece. There are no pre-made templates: every strap starts from scratch.

I recommend Mississippi Alligator in a honey gradient. Pink gold has a warm, almost dry chromatic temperature, and this leather follows it without overpowering it. For those who prefer something more understated and lived-in, Barenia tabac ages beautifully and sits well with the sporting-elegant character of the Overseas.

With ordinary care — keeping it away from water, letting it breathe, rotating between two straps — I estimate six to ten years of real use. Quality leather does not deteriorate: it transforms. Alligator and Barenia develop a patina that reflects the wearer, not a sign of wear.

Very relevant, and I see it every time I work on one of these watches. Jörg Hysek designed a case with a hexagonal bezel that remains instantly recognisable decades later. Vacheron Constantin has not betrayed that geometry: they have refined it. It is rare for a manufacture to maintain such coherence over such a long span of time.
