The only viable option is to have a strap made to measure, built around the original structure of the watch.

I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. You bring the watch to the atelier: I take measurements directly from the case, study the curvature of the attachments and build the strap around the actual geometry of the piece. I do not work from photographs or generic specifications — every millimetre is verified at the bench.

For a watch with this character — architectural in its sportiness, warm in its material — I favour Mississippi alligator in tobacco or cognac tones. The colour speaks to the pink gold without overpowering it, and the structured texture balances the geometric clarity of the hexagonal bezel. As an alternative, naturally aged Barenia: it starts firm, then softens and develops a patina that tells the story of years of wear.

A strap built with quality leather and solid stitching easily lasts five to seven years — sometimes longer, if the watch is not the only one in rotation. Care is straightforward: keep it away from prolonged exposure to water and let it breathe. Alligator and Barenia stand up well to daily wear; they develop a personal patina that, in my view, improves the character of the strap over time.

The hexagonal shape references the Maltese Cross, Vacheron Constantin's emblem since 1755. It is not a decorative detail: it is the defining visual signature of the entire Overseas family. When I build a strap for this watch, I use that geometry as a reference — the proportions of the keeper, the shape of the edge, even the closing angle must be consistent with that line. A generic strap would break that coherence.
