No. The bracelet is integrated into the case with a proprietary attachment system: a standard strap simply will not connect. It is a closed architectural design, conceived that way from the outset. The only solution is to build the strap directly on the watch, in the atelier.

I work exclusively by appointment at <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I bring the watch to the bench, take measurements from the actual case — not from technical sheets — and build the attachment for that precise piece. It is the only way to ensure the strap sits exactly as it should.

For a watch with this dual character — sporty in form, Genevan in spirit — I prefer naturally aged Barenia. It suits the gentleman traveller without looking formal. It ages with the person wearing it, and that feels like exactly what the Overseas asks of a strap.

With normal care, five to seven years is an honest estimate. Leather should be kept away from prolonged exposure to water and conditioned a few times a year with a good neutral product. A well-kept Barenia does not deteriorate: it transforms, and after a few years it has a depth that new material simply does not yet have.

Vacheron Constantin took a different path from the others: they integrated the Maltese cross symbol directly into the bezel, bringing the manufacture's identifying mark into a sports watch. That was not an obvious move for those years. The result is a watch that never forgets where it comes from, even when you are wearing it travelling in a light jacket.
