I work through <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>, by appointment only, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. I take the watch to the bench, measure directly from the case, and build the attachment millimetre by millimetre. There is no template — every piece is made from scratch for that specific watch.

I choose natural Barenia. The Overseas is a watch that travels, that lives — and Barenia responds exactly in kind: it patinas with use, absorbs the marks of time, and grows more beautiful. It suits the sporting-elegant character of this watch without mimicking the formal refinement of other Vacheron pieces.

With normal care, a good five years. Leather needs little maintenance: keep it away from prolonged water exposure, condition it occasionally with a natural cream. Well-treated Barenia doesn't degrade — it transforms, and after a few years it tells a story that no factory-made strap ever could.
