The bracelet is integrated into the case: there are no standard lugs to attach an off-the-shelf strap. The architecture is deliberately monolithic. In the atelier I build the attachment directly on the watch, made to measure, with no adapters.

I choose Mississippi Alligator for anyone who wants the strap to hold its own alongside the rose gold case. It is a leather that deepens with time without losing structure. For a more everyday register, Veau Swift in Bordeaux or Bleu Abysse works beautifully and softens with real grace.

With minimal care — keeping it away from water, letting it breathe, rotating between straps if you have more than one — five or six years is a realistic target. Quality leather does not deteriorate: it changes. Alligator tends to look better with age, not worse.

No, and that is what has always struck me about this watch. Patek Philippe designed it from 1999 to be worn every day, not kept in a safe. The soft rectangular case and the bracelet that flows across the wrist are choices of comfort, not just of form. It is a watch that gains meaning through constant wear.
