Strap for Nautilus 7010 Rose Gold / White

A standard straight-lug strap does not have the geometric terms to fit the integrated attachment of the Nautilus, which is an organic part of the case design. A bespoke strap, however, is the correct solution: it is built directly on the watch, after a physical measurement of the attachment carried out in the workshop by <a href="/pages/casati-booking">Casati Milano</a>. The result is a strap made for that specific piece, integrating with the case as though it had always been part of it.

The watch is brought in person to the Casati Milano atelier, where the attachment dimensions are physically recorded: width at the lug, curvature, exit angle. Only after this stage is the leather selected and the construction details defined — thickness, buckle or deployant clasp, edge finishing, and optional saddle stitching. The strap is then built to those exact measurements, ensuring a perfect fit and formal continuity with the case.

The rose gold case and the 32mm diameter call for leathers with a fine grain and a compact surface: smooth veau lisse in powder, greige or blush tones accompanies the case without overpowering it. Polished hornback alligator in tobacco or cognac offers a natural patina that contrasts with the metallic perfection of the case in a refined way. Ostrich leather in neutral tones is a third option for those who seek a dotted texture in dialogue with the dial's grain pattern.

A strap built with first-choice leather, hand-finished edges and saddle stitching can last many years with ordinary care: avoid prolonged contact with water and perspiration, and store it flat when not in use. Longevity also depends on the choice of leather — alligator and smooth veau lisse tend to develop a patina over time that enhances their character rather than degrading it. A well-made strap ages alongside the watch, not against it.

The Nautilus was created in 1976 from a design by Gérald Genta, commissioned by Patek Philippe to compete in the luxury sports watch market. The 7010R-011 reference represents the feminine interpretation of that original vision: a 32mm rose gold case, an in-house calibre displaying hours, minutes, seconds and date, produced from 2023 onwards. It retains the iconic architecture — octagonal bezel, horizontal embossed pattern, integrated bracelet — adapting it to a formal and feminine context without compromising the original design.
