Integrated bracelet: measurements, the most common questions, and the way to a made-to-measure strap.
Integrated bracelet
The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712R-001 is designed with a bracelet integrated into the case. For a compatible made-to-measure strap, the Casati Milano atelier builds it on your watch.

Frequently asked questions
Can a standard strap be fitted to the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712R-001?
No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there are no standard lugs to attach a conventional strap. The only option is to build a bespoke attachment, hand-shaped to the specific geometry of this case. It is work I carry out exclusively in the atelier, with the watch in front of me.
How does the bespoke strap service work for this Nautilus?
I work on this model exclusively through Casati Milano, my atelier at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan, by appointment only. I take the measurements directly from the client's case: there are no templates, and I do not work from photographs. Every attachment is built from scratch to fit the specific curve of that rose gold case.
Which leather do I recommend for this rose gold Nautilus?
I prefer Barenia with a natural patina. Rose gold has a warm, deep chromatic temperature: Barenia ages in the same direction, developing over time shades that complement the metal rather than clash with it. Shiny alligator is a legitimate choice for those seeking more contrast, but on this rose gold Nautilus I find Barenia has more character.
How long does a well-made strap last on a watch of this calibre?
A strap built with quality leather and worn with care easily lasts five, six, even eight years. The leather should be kept away from prolonged exposure to water and occasionally treated with a neutral conditioner. Barenia in particular does not show its age: it carries it, and after a few years it has a presence that a new strap simply cannot match.
What movement does the Nautilus 5712R carry, and how does it affect the dial?
It houses the calibre 240 PS IRM C LU, a movement that adds moon phases and a power reserve indicator to the time display. The dial is therefore more information-dense than a simple three-hander. When I work out the proportions of a strap in the atelier, I take this into account: a watch with such a complex dial needs a strap that does not visually overload the wrist.
The next step
