Strap for Nautilus 5711 Yellow Gold / Silver
Integrated bracelet: measurements, the most common questions, and the way to a made-to-measure strap.
Integrated bracelet
The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711J-001 is designed with a bracelet integrated into the case. For a compatible made-to-measure strap, the Casati Milano atelier builds it on your watch.

Frequently asked questions
Can a standard strap be fitted to the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711J-001?
No. The bracelet is integrated directly into the case: there is no conventional lug to attach a standard strap. The connection geometry is proprietary to Patek Philippe. For this reason, every strap I make for this model is built to measure, starting from the physical watch, in the atelier.
How does the bespoke strap service work for this Nautilus?
I work exclusively by appointment at Casati Milano, at Via XX Settembre 15 in Milan. The watch must be present: I take measurements directly from the case, study the connection points and shape every joining element by hand. There is no off-the-shelf template that works on this model.
Which leather do I recommend for a Nautilus in yellow gold?
On a yellow gold Nautilus I prefer dark tobacco or cognac alligator crocodile with a smooth, polished finish. Yellow gold calls for warmth, not a cold contrast. That combination preserves the sporting character of the watch without betraying the richness of the metal.
How long does a well-made strap last on a watch of this level?
A strap built with selected leather and reinforced stitching easily lasts five to seven years of regular wear. With minimal care — keeping it away from prolonged water exposure and letting it breathe — the leather develops a patina that improves it over time. I have seen straps age better than the watches they accompanied.
Why is the Nautilus 5711 in yellow gold considered different from other 5711 references?
The 5711J-001 is the only member of the family in solid yellow gold: a material that completely changes the visual character compared to steel. Yellow gold brings warmth and weight to the wrist, yet the octagonal porthole form designed by Gérald Genta in 1976 remains unchanged. It is the same architecture, with an entirely different specific weight — emotional as well as physical.
