The lug width of this model is exactly 18mm, measured inside to inside between the case lugs. It is important not to confuse it with the professional Moonwatch, which features 20mm. To verify the measurement, position a caliper between the two horizontal case lugs.

Mississippi alligator is the most natural choice for this case: its regular mesh texture elegantly balances the two-tone gold and steel. Choose dark brown or havana tones for a noble contrast with the yellow gold. Alternatively, vegetable-tanned calf leather evolves over time, developing a noble patina that accompanies the aging of the case.

Remove the existing strap by gently pushing the spring bars from the opposite side with a dedicated tool (spring bar tool). Insert the spring bars of the new strap into the case lugs, ensuring they click perfectly into place. If you own a deployante, attach the new strap to the ends before wearing the watch.

Any strap with an 18mm lug width is compatible. You can choose from alligator, calf, shell cordovan, NATO, FKM rubber, and canvas. Always verify that the strap is long enough for your wrist: typically 75-80mm total length is standard for a 38mm case.

A quality alligator strap lasts 3-5 years with daily wear, provided it is not exposed to prolonged moisture. Vegetable-tanned calf leather can last 2-3 years as it is more porous and sensitive to perspiration. Increase longevity by alternating straps (for example, weekly) and cleaning the strap monthly with a slightly soapy damp cloth.
