The lug width is exactly 21 millimetres. It is measured internally between the two lugs of the case at the strap attachment point. It is a precise standard: 20mm lugs would be too narrow, while 22mm would not fit correctly into the slots.

For the Orange Gold we recommend black alligator with cream stitching, or vegetable-tanned calf leather in dark brown. Avoid red shell cordovan (it would compete chromatically). Anthracite FKM rubber is valid for sports use. All compatible with the 21mm lug width.

Use a spring bar tool to gently push the spring bar pin from the sides. Once released, the pin comes out and allows you to remove the old strap. Insert the new strap and reposition the pin, ensuring it is locked symmetrically on both sides.

All straps with 21mm lug width are compatible. Look for models with ISO 21mm width: alligator, calf, FKM rubber, NATO. Check their construction quality; the best artisans also customise the specific length for the 44.25mm case.

A high-quality leather strap (alligator, vegetable-tanned calf) typically lasts 3-5 years with daily use. Durability depends on ambient humidity, sun exposure and cleaning frequency. Proper storage and regular maintenance extend the strap's lifespan; FKM rubber has greater durability (5-8 years) but less aesthetic appeal.
