The strap is replaced by removing the spring bars that secure it to the lugs. Use a spring bar tool to compress the internal spring of the bar, then extract it outward. Once both ends are released, the original strap slides off. Insert the new 20mm strap by aligning the hole with the spring bar, compress the spring and allow the bar to snap firmly into position. Proceed with care to avoid damaging the metal lugs of the titanium case.

Any strap with a 20mm lug width is compatible with this model. The best aesthetic results are achieved with alligator, vegetable-tanned calf, shell cordovan, silicone rubber or NATO fabric straps. Always verify that the strap has been cut for 20mm lugs and that the mounting holes are centred and well-finished. Beware of generic straps: always prefer suppliers who test compatibility on specific Omega models.

Durability depends on the type of leather and conditions of use. An artisanal-quality alligator or shell cordovan strap offers resistance of 4-6 years with regular maintenance (hydration with conditioner cream every 3 months). Vegetable-tanned calf tends to last 2-4 years due to greater porosity. Frequent exposure to water, sweat and sunlight accelerates ageing. A silicone rubber strap typically lasts 5-7 years and is more water-resistant, ideal if you frequently wear the watch in aquatic environments given the 150m water resistance of this model.
