The Nomos Glashütte Club 764 features a lug width (ansa) of 20mm. This is the internal distance between the shoulders of the two case lugs. A compatible strap must fit precisely in this width to ensure proper seating and stability on the case.

The optimal strap depends on intended use: for formal occasions, we recommend alligator or shell cordovan with vegetable tanning, in brown or burgundy shades. For daily wear, a grey or beige NATO offers versatility and quick changes. For humid or nautical environments, antracite rubber guarantees waterproofing and longevity. The brushed case of the 764 harmonizes particularly well with natural Italian leather textures.

Position the watch on a soft cushion with the dial facing down. Use a spring bar tool or fine pin to gently press the pin securing the strap to the lug. The pin will slide out. Repeat on the other lug. Insert the pin into your new 20mm strap, align it with the lug seats and push the pin until fully seated. The operation takes seconds and requires no specialised tools.

Any strap with a 20mm lug width is compatible with the Club 764, provided the spring bars are the correct length (typically 2.25-2.35mm diameter). Italian artisanal straps, crafted from vegetable-tanned leather or technical rubber, are the recommended choice for quality and aesthetic consistency with the watch's German manufacturing philosophy.

A quality leather strap with vegetable tanning and natural grain typically lasts 3-5 years with daily wear, and up to 7-8 years with occasional use.
