Integrated bracelet: measurements, the most common questions, and the way to a made-to-measure strap.

Integrated bracelet

The MB&F Legacy Machines 52.RL.W is designed with a bracelet integrated into the case. For a compatible made-to-measure strap, the Casati Milano atelier builds it on your watch.

The Legacy Machines 52.RL.W, seen from the bench

The Legacy Machines LM1 features the MB&F LM1 caliber with hours, minutes and an adjustable 12-hour hand, as well as a power reserve indicator. The 52.RL.W reference is distinguished by the suspended architecture of the movement and the three-dimensional arrangement of the functional elements. The mechanism offers an unconventional time reading through elevated dials positioned at different levels.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fit a standard strap on the MB&F Legacy Machines 52.RL.W?

No, the bracelet is integrated into the case — there's no traditional lug where you can thread a strap. This watch's architecture is too specific for off-the-shelf solutions. If you want a strap, I work directly on the case in the atelier, building custom lugs that speak to the watch's sculptural geometry.

How does the bespoke strap work for this model?

I work exclusively at Casati Milano, by appointment only. I take measurements directly from the case, study the balance between red gold and your wrist, then craft the lugs in the workshop without removing the watch. It's millimetre work, but it's the only way to honour a piece like this.

Which leather do I recommend for the Legacy Machines 52.RL.W?

Mississippi Alligator. This watch has a sharp geometry, almost brutal in its mechanical precision, and Alligator's regular, deep texture responds well to that rigidity. Red gold doesn't suit softness; it needs a leather with structural character.

How long does a well-made strap last?

A quality leather strap lasts 4 to 6 years with daily wear, if you treat it with care. Leather ages beautifully: it darkens, develops patina, tells the story of your wrist. I prefer natural cleaners and never let it suffocate — leather needs to breathe between days.

Is the movement visible on the caseback?

Yes, and that's central to why the MB&F is engineered this way: Büsser wanted to expose the suspended calibre, the floating balances, the mechanics hovering in space. When you choose a bespoke strap for this watch, the caseback stays completely open — the mechanism demands air and light.

The next step

The right strap isn't chosen. It is built, together.

From the atelier appointment to delivery, every step is made for those who know that things done well take time. Rare leathers, one piece at a time, eighteen months of warranty.
