The Legacy Machines 01.LH, seen from the bench

The Legacy Machine 01.LH mounts the MB&F LM1 caliber with hour, minute and an additional 12-hour adjustable hand, as well as a power reserve indicator. The movement features a vertical architecture with a raised balance and oscillating balances visible from the dial. The case adopts precious materials with a domed sapphire crystal that follows the three-dimensional forms of the movement.

Frequently asked questions

Can a standard strap be fitted to the MB&F Legacy Machines 01.LH?

No, the strap attachment is not a standard straight-bar system, but is integrated into the architectural design of the case. A bespoke strap, constructed directly on the watch, is the correct solution. Casati Milano performs a precise survey of the proprietary attachment and constructs the strap on the watch itself, ensuring perfect fit.

How does the bespoke strap creation process work?

Casati Milano takes a precise measurement of the proprietary attachment directly on the watch during an appointment visit. Subsequently, the strap is handcrafted to those exact specifications, with the choice of leather, deployante buckle, and finishing agreed upon together. It is a personalised and exclusively bespoke process.

What type of leather suits the character of the Legacy Machines 01.LH?

The Legacy Machines 01.LH, with its sculptural architecture and neo-Victorian style, pairs well with structured leathers with marked grain, naturally aged calfskin, or leather with sought-after patina. Colours should remain neutral—black, dark brown, mahogany—so the strap does not compete visually with the case and three-dimensional movement. The leather should accept time and use without resistance.

How long does a strap made by the atelier last?

A strap handcrafted by Casati Milano lasts in proportion to the quality of the leather, type of use, and maintenance. With good leather and regular care, it can last many years and develop a fascinating patina. It is an investment that evolves over time, just like the watch that accompanies it.

Why does the Legacy Machines 01.LH have such a particular geometry?

Maximilian Büsser wanted to reinterpret the aesthetics of nineteenth-century watchmaking through a three-dimensional movement, with two suspended balance wheels visible under the sapphire dome. This architecture transforms the watch into a mechanical sculpture: every element is conceived in space, not on a horizontal plane. This is why the strap attachment is an integral part of the case design, not an industrial standard.
