The MB&F Legacy Machines 06.TAL.BLG is fitted with a lug width of 20 millimetres. This lug width measurement refers to the distance between the internal pins of the case lugs and determines compatibility with any aftermarket strap. To verify, use a digital calliper positioned perpendicularly between the two case lugs.

For the 06.TAL.BLG, we recommend an alligator leather strap with vegetable tanning, in cognac brown or black. Alligator offers refined grain that contrasts elegantly with the case's tantalum. Alternatively, vegetable-tanned calf leather with aged patina creates sublime aesthetic harmony, whilst NATO or NBR rubber ensures practicality without visual compromise.

Extract the spring bars using a dedicated spring bar removal tool. Position the tool in the groove of one pin and lift gently until the end is freed. Repeat for the opposite side. Insert the pins into the new strap, aligning internal holes, then reinsert the pins into the case lugs. Ensure the strap is centred on the case.

A quality leather strap (alligator or vegetable-tanned calf) develops natural patina after 12–18 months of regular wear. Effective durability varies based on wearing frequency and climatic conditions. With periodic maintenance (microfibre cloth cleaning, annual hydration), a leather strap can remain aesthetically sound for 3–5 years before replacement. Rubber straps have similar lifespan but do not develop patina.
