The Uni-Racer UR-001-CRU features a 20mm lug width. This measurement refers to the internal space between the two fixed metal lugs on the case where the strap is secured via spring bars. The 20mm specification is a deliberate engineering choice by Massena LAB to achieve visual balance with the 39mm case diameter.

The optimal choice depends on intended use and personal preference. For classical formal wear, we recommend cognac alligator or vegetable-tanned leather with a smooth finish. For daily and sports use, grey-blue NATO straps or FKM rubber provide durability and practicality. Shell cordovan represents the most durable long-term solution, with a patina that improves over years of wear.

The strap is secured by spring bars that pass through both lugs. Using a dedicated spring bar removal tool, apply gentle downward pressure on one side of the spring bar to extract it from its seat, then release the strap. Reverse the procedure to install the new strap. Caution: avoid forcing the tool to prevent damage to the lugs.
