To verify strap compatibility, measure the distance between the lugs using a digital calliper, keeping the measurement perpendicular to the dial. Measurement should be taken from the outer edge of one lug to the outer edge of the other.

The optimal strap depends on intended use. For formal and business contexts, dark brown alligator or black vegetable-tanned calf leather are recommended: both develop a noble patina over time and harmonise perfectly with the brushed steel case. For sporting or casual use, a quality NATO fabric strap or FKM rubber strap provides ergonomics and practicality without compromising the watch's sophisticated character. To change the strap, remove the spring bars from the case lugs. Use a dedicated spring bar tool or a flat multi-tool. Gently press the spring bar towards the case centre to release it from its slot, then extract the previous strap. Insert the new strap ensuring the spring bars engage correctly in the lug slots. The procedure requires care to avoid scratching the case: it is recommended to work on a padded, well-lit surface.

Any strap with an 18-millimetre lug width is compatible with the Streamliner 6812-1200. Options include leather (alligator, calf, shell cordovan), textiles (NATO, military canvas), rubber (FKM, silicone), and exotic skins (lizard, ostrich).
