The Octo 102776, seen from the bench

The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton DLC, designed by Gérald Genta in 2012, features an octagonal black ceramic case embodying modernist geometry. This integrated-lug sports watch showcases the brand's architectural approach to watchmaking. The Octo Finissimo Skeleton DLC Dubai Edition is paired with a black alligator leather strap, custom-fitted by Atelier Casati Milano to complement the ceramic case's geometric lines and visual weight.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fit a standard strap on the Bulgari Octo 102776?

No. The bracelet is integrated into the case. There's no conventional lug system—the octagonal geometry and attachment mechanism are proprietary to Bulgari. If you want to change the strap, I build one bespoke directly onto your watch, working with the case architecture.

How does the bespoke strap process work for the Octo?

You visit Casati Milano by appointment. I measure directly from the case—every millimetre: the angles, the curve, the ceramic weight. Then I craft the lugs by hand and sew them perfectly onto your chosen leather. It's work that cannot be done remotely.

Which leather do you recommend for this model?

Mississippi alligator, polished black. The ceramic case has a strong, almost sculptural presence: a leather that answers that hardness, staying monochromatic, feels right. If you want something that ages and builds character, Barenia will develop a bronze patina that contrasts beautifully with the case. Both leathers hold the visual weight of the Octo.

How long does a well-made strap last?

With regular wear and basic care, 5 to 7 years easily. Good leather doesn't wear out—it ages, takes the shape of your wrist, becomes softer. Keep it dry and don't leave it in constant sunlight, and you'll be surprised at its longevity. When the time comes, I come back, re-sew the lugs, and restore it.

Why did Gérald Genta choose eight sides for the Octo?

Eight facets is pure geometry, balance. It's not arbitrary: eight faces mean each corner of the case catches light differently, the sculpture breathes. In 2012, when he designed it, it was genuine audacity. I chose to work with the Octo precisely for that geometric rigidity: the strap must not be soft—it must support the sculpture.
