Strap replacement requires a specific tool called a spring bar remover. Position the watch with the lug facing towards you, insert the flat tip of the tool into the slot beneath the lug and gently push to compress the spring. Once the lug is released from the old strap, fully extract the pin. Repeat on the other side, then insert the new strap by clicking both lugs into place. Work slowly to avoid scratching the case.

Durability depends on material and usage. A quality alligator strap can last 5-7 years with proper care (periodic cleaning and protection from excessive moisture).
