This specification is model-specific and requires straps purposefully designed for this measurement. To verify compatibility, use a digital calliper positioned between the lugs: the value must read 20±0.5mm.

The choice depends on your usage pattern: vegetable-tanned alligator for daily elegance and evolving patina; Italian calf for formal versatility; nylon NATO for complete water resistance and zero maintenance; FKM rubber for marine environments and absolute impermeability. We recommend matching the material to your lifestyle rather than momentary aesthetic preference.

The SRPD83K1's spring bars are retained by tension springs positioned laterally. Using a dedicated spring bar tool, apply gentle inward pressure on the spring whilst extracting the bar with linear movement. Repeat symmetrically on the opposite side. Once removed, withdraw the existing strap and insert the new one, aligning the lugs with the case apertures.

Any strap with a 20mm lug width is theoretically compatible. However, for optimal result we recommend straps specifically designed for 42mm+ sports watches: the visual proportion between case and strap must maintain harmony. Avoid straps with thickness below 2mm, which would flex excessively under the case's weight.

An alligator or vegetable-tanned calf strap, subjected to moderate use, retains structural integrity between 3 and 5 years. Exposure to perspiration, humidity and UV rays accelerates ageing; periodic maintenance with neutral wax extends service life. The strap does not 'expire'—it evolves, acquiring patina that reflects its wearer's journey.
