I favour Mississippi alligator. The Kalpa has an audacious, sculptural character: alligator, with its noble structure and dense skin, honours that statement of strength. If you want something that ages with you, Barenia works equally well: it develops a patina that dialogues beautifully with rose gold.

With respect, a quality strap lasts 5–7 years of daily wear. Fine leather ages, changes colour, develops character. With basic care — keep it dry, use balm once a year — you can extend that further. The key is not to wait until it breaks before acting.
