The Kalpa PFC1601001100B10002, seen from the bench

The Kalpa Piccola by Parmigiani Fleurier features an asymmetrical tonneau case in 18kt rose gold, representing Michel Parmigiani's philosophy of the watch as sculptural object. This model requires a specialized tonneau attachment system. The case diameter and lug width are specific to this iconic collection's unique proportions.

Frequently asked questions

Can you fit a standard strap to the Parmigiani Fleurier Kalpa PFC1601001100B10002?

No, the bracelet is integrated into the case. The Kalpa's tonneau attachment is not a standard lug system: no off-the-shelf strap will fit. For this watch, I craft the strap bespoke, modelling the attachment around the unique geometry of your case.

How does the bespoke strap process work at Atelier Casati Milano?

We work by appointment only. You bring the watch, I take measurements directly from the case, study the tonneau curve, and craft the strap tailored to your wrist and your Kalpa. Everything else happens at the bench. Contact Casati Milano to book.

Which leather would you recommend for the Parmigiani Fleurier Kalpa?

I favour Mississippi alligator. The Kalpa has an audacious, sculptural character: alligator, with its noble structure and dense skin, honours that statement of strength. If you want something that ages with you, Barenia works equally well: it develops a patina that dialogues beautifully with rose gold.

How long does a well-made strap last?

With respect, a quality strap lasts 5–7 years of daily wear. Fine leather ages, changes colour, develops character. With basic care — keep it dry, use balm once a year — you can extend that further. The key is not to wait until it breaks before acting.

Why does the Kalpa require a special attachment?

The Kalpa's asymmetrical tonneau case was not designed for standard lug systems. Michel Parmigiani conceived the watch as a sculptural object: that form must breathe, and the strap must be part of that vision, not a compromise. That's why I insist on building it bespoke, millimetre by millimetre.
