Strap replacement is simple and requires no special tools. Position the watch on a soft surface, face up. Locate the two spring bars (perns) at the ends of the current strap. Using a ballpoint pen or spring bar tool, gently press each bar towards the centre of the case to release the internal spring. Once disengaged from one side, remove the old strap. Position the spring bars of the new strap into the lug holes and press until you hear a click. Verify that both sides are firmly seated. The entire process takes less than a minute.

Durability depends on use and maintenance. A high-quality alligator or vegetable-tanned calf strap, with solid stitching, lasts 3–5 years if worn daily. If used occasionally, even 7–10 years is achievable. Ageing is natural: it develops patina, flexes, and gains the memory of your wrist. We advise against prolonged water exposure or direct UV rays. A vegetable-tanned calf ages gracefully; synthetics tend to delaminate. With minimal care—quarterly cleaning and annual conditioning cream—a genuine leather strap becomes more beautiful and comfortable over time.
